Andre - CALIFORNIA GOLFER LOOKING FOR LESSONS/FITTING    Answers
"My golf handicap is between 15 and 17. What is your recommendation for finding an instructor? Should I only seek out instructors who are club-fitting specialist or do you feel its better to take lessons from any instructor and then seek out a club-fitting specialist?"
Kim - CLUBS OR LESSONS FIRST?  Answers
"I want to get my husband into golf. He has expressed an interest. I would like to get him lessons and clubs. In what order should I do this? In talking to my brother, he recommended frequency matching in having clubs fit. However, it seems that you should already have a swing developed before going through this process. I hate to buy a set of clubs only to have to replace them soon after, especially as my husband is rather tall. Do any pros provide clubs to learn swing and also measure for clubs? I would like advice as to how to go about this process."
Jeff - BALL FITTING   Answers
"Does anyone know of a chart that would cross-reference shafts with a recommended ball for that shaft? I've been told that for every shaft there is a recommended ball that has rotations per minute that optimize launch angle. Thanks for any help with this."
Randy - CLUB FITTING VS. LESSONS    Answers
"I have a 'which comes first, the chicken or the egg?' question. Should you take lessons first, or should you be fitted for clubs first? I've been playing for two years, and I am a 20+ handicap. I have a good swing, but I have several break-downs: wrists, tempo and I don't bump my hip forward every time, creating active legs. Thank you for your time!"
Jon - RIFLE SHAFTS    Answers
"Hi, I'm 14 yrs old, got my handicap down to 7 last season, am 6'2",160 lbs. Will be getting fitted for my irons in March. Have been told that rifled shafts are what my swing needs. What's the difference between them and the step shafts? Thanks!"
Fred - BEGINNER CLUB FITTING    Answers
"Why would an entry level or novice player not benefit from equipment that was fitted to them? Would that not be like someone trying to learn to play a musical instrument that was not tuned?"
JR - OUT TOWARD THE TOE    Answers
"I am a 6 handicap. Let's say my swing path is good, divots are good, but I tend to hit out toward the toe. What would be the most likely spec changes need to be made to my clubs?"
Chad - LOFT & SHAFT FITTING    Answers
"I am currently considering the new Titleist 975j driver. I use a 975d 8.5 EI-70 R-Shaft now.
I am not sure this shaft or loft is right for me. I usually shoot low 90's to high 80's. Some days the driver really works well, but other times it is well right. It seems if I try to really swing strong I have a hard slice. I have the original Orlimar trimetal 13 wood with a firm flex shaft and it works perfect for me. My average swing speed is somewhere in the upper 90's. Could anyone suggest a loft and shaft flex?  I am standard size golfer by PING web fit charts.  Should I use a 45" shaft?"
