From Ron, golfer:
What feeling should I have to begin my downswing? Does the left shoulder feel as if it rotates under the chin? I know the down swing begins with the left knee slamming shut. Should I feel as if my right or left shoulder starts the movement towards the target? What drills can I do to stop coming up out of my spine angle at the top of my back swing?
PGA/LPGA TEACHING PROFESSIONAL RESPONSES:

"To Ron: If you feel the down swing begins with the left knee slamming shut, I certainly can't help you with your problem. I am not too sure what that means. You should try using your arms to swing the club FORWARD IN THE DIRECTION OF THE TARGET, TO THE FINISH, and let your body respond to the motion you produce. Think about moving the golf club, not your knees."

"Ron: THE FEELING FROM THE LEFT SIDE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A DROP OF THE CLUB INTO THE HITTING AREA." - Corky Marcinkowski, Teaching Professional
Minnesota
"In response to what feeling you should have to start the downswing in your case you need to work on shifting your weight laterally while you keep your back towards the target. All the things you mentioned about the shoulders trying to lead are all related to an over the top downswing. As far as coming out of your spine angle at the top of your swing, check to make sure your initial spine angle is not bent too far over.  Then, focus on cocking your wrists earlier in the back swing. Practice this in front of a mirror so
you can see and feel how this looks." - Peter Krause, Teaching Professional
