From COBRA, golfer:

I would like to know what the average putter length is on the PGA tour?

PGA/LPGA TEACHING PROFESSIONAL RESPONSES:
Minnesota
"About 34", which is shorter than the average amateur uses. I use 33" and am 5'9"."

"
I don't think there really is an average on putter lengths. There are some basic fundamentals to watch for, but really it's about confidence, comfort and feel in the putter."

"
I do not know if there is a hard fast average, but I would suspect it is about 33.5" to 34.5" inches. Ask around and come to your own conclusion. My putters are 33" and 36" depending on the stroke procedure I select on any given period of time." - Karl Fischer, Teaching Professional
New Hampshire
"I honestly have no idea, but the average length data should not affect the putter length that you should use. The PGA Tour plays with putting conditions that most of us never experience. My rule of thumb for fitting a golfer with a putter is to ensure that they are able to grip it comfortably with either the left or right hand high. Also, changing the length of a putter will also change your posture, eye position, and swing weight of the club. PS - The players using long putters (50"+) would skew the data considerably.
Good Luck!" -

"If you don't count the long putters and belly putters, I would make an educated guess that the average putter length on the PGA Tour is about 35 inches." - Warren Lehr, Teaching Professional
