From Terry,

I recently purchased a Taylor Made 300
8.5* with a stiff shaft. I have been using a Taylor Made SuperSteel 10.5*
with a regular shaft. I have a fast swing and thought a stiffer shaft
would help me, but the transition is not very impressive. Also my 1, 3 and
5 woods were a matched set. Is the variation of shafts going to create
problems for me ??? |

"Yes, the variations in shafts can create problems. Just
look at the Tour players, they having consistent shafts. I suggest
you stick with the regular shaft and change to the 300 with 8.5
degree and give yourself some time to get use to the change.
8.5* is a great idea for your faster swing, just keep the regular
shaft. You will be impressed with this transition
(definitely more distance!)."

"Terry:
It will be a change so be patient or go get fitted by a teaching
professional in your area the $ you will spend is worth it."

"Terry: Perhaps a possible problem could be in the
8.5 loft of the club. Many golfers play with to little loft on
there woods. The less loft on a club the harder control becomes.
Also the flex on golf clubs is to stiff for many golfers. Contact
a local PGA professional in your area and I am sure that they can
help you." - Cortlin

"Terry: Sound like it already has created a problem. Fast
does not equate to stiffer, but rather to a poor swing dynamic in
most instances. Drive over to Sanford, near Pinehurst, and let
Golfing by Design put you on their launch monitor to get answers
to your fitting questions. Their are only a few launch monitors in
the USA and are the latest and best fitting device."
