From Brian - OFF THE TOE    Answers
"Consistently strike ball toward toe off sweet spot. Have tried standing closer, Addressing ball cheating toward the shank, Farther away etc. Help!! If I focus and address a spot approx 1/2 inch outside of my ball I hit it SWEET. Asking for a drill to straighten out my sight picture. Thanks for the help."
From Richard - SLICING TEE SHOT    Answers
"I have been slicing my tee shots for 20 years, I have tried everything from closing my stance, taking the club more inside closing the face, aiming right, and I still cut the ball. sometimes I can play the cut and do okay, but sometimes its really bad. Do have any tips that I can try??"
From Kim - OVER THE TOP    Answers
"I have a really bad tendency to come over the top. I have taken many lessons, and when I swing with my left arm only, it's great, but my right arm overtakes and I always come over the top. My divots always point way left. Please help!"
From Matt Goyak - SWING TOO QUICK    Answers
"I am a 7, but I am very inconsistent off the tee. My practice swing is a nice full fluid inside out swing path with good body/shoulder turn. When I stand over the ball and swing, I feel like my swing is not as full, quicker, not near as fluid and an outside in swing path. Can you give me any suggestion(s)?"
From Rick DeMello - HEAD MOVES UP    Answers
"
I am a 9 handicap and my head moves up on my back swing. How do I prevent this?"
From Mark Cardelli - MID-IRONS PUSH SLICE    Answers
"It appears that from my 3 iron to my 7 iron, I have a push slice (I am right-handed). When I hit the ball, it starts off right and continually goes right. It started happening ever since I started hitting my driver well. Help!"
From Bill Wall - WAGGLE TOO LONG    Answers
"I'm 56, a 7 handicap, and golf every day. Lately, I have trouble starting the back swing. I waggle or move the club up and down and just can't seem to get ready to take the club back. I stand over the ball too long before I swing the club. I'd sure like to just get up to the ball and begin the swing. Any suggestions? Thanks."
From Jared - PUSH SLICE    Answers
"I am 16 years old and a 5 handicap. When I was younger I used to hook and draw the ball a lot because of my hips flaring out and my arms lagging behind me. Recently I have been during the worst shot in golf...the push slice. I am not a very flexible teenager and have trouble getting my shoulders to 90 degrees, also I think my swing is a little upright. If would be great it you could give me some tips on how to achieve a better ball flight! Thanks."
From Ben - DISTANCE CONTROL WITH IRONS    Answers
"I have many problems with 150 yards in, and 100-50 and 50-0 being quite terrible, with little control and thus an inability to hit quality high spinning pitches. I have large divots but little spin. I can hit the longer clubs a little better, but as the clubs get lower I seem to be able to hit, like say a 5 iron, the same distance as a 3."
From Pete - HITTING MIDDLE IRONS    Answers
"I am having big problems with my mid to long irons. I seem to do fine with short irons, but I leave big divots.  I also do fine with my drivers.  When it comes to mid to long irons, I leave huge divots, slice, and get no distance at all. What am I doing wrong?"
From Brett Turner - STOP FADING    Answers
"Hi I have been playing golf for a while and not long ago I just started to keep fading the ball with my woods could you help me and tell me how to stop fading it?"
From Curtis Smith - ALASKAN MELTDOWN    Answers
"Hi guys. Once the snow melts my handicap usually hovers around 5. My problem is I always fight to find my timing year after year.  The latest nightmare: My entire life I've been drawing the ball (and hooking it on a bad day) but lately I've been unable to get out of my own way and the result is a week fade or push.  It's killing me because of the lack of distance and accuracy.  Mentally, I've never had to consider going in to trouble on the right side of the fairway but now I'm afraid to let it rip off the tee. When I do let it fly, the duck hook often rears its ugly head again. I'm having a meltdown in Alaska!"
From Clyde Herron - NEED TO FLATTEN WRIST    Answers
"I'M RIGHT HANDED, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO KEEP THE LEFT WRIST FLAT AT THE TOP OF MY BACK SWING? IT IS CUPPED AND I NEED A DRILL TO HELP CORRECT IT. THANK YOU."
From Kevin Smith - HORRIBLE SLICE     Answers
"How do I fix my horrible slice?"
From Scott McInnus - SHANKING    Answers
"I am a 4 handicap who has recently started playing like a 20. The problem is that I developed a case of the shanks. I had never hit shanks in my life and I can't explain where it came from. I have managed to stop shanking the ball, but my swing is just terrible. I am at least two clubs shorter than I was just a few weeks ago, and I don't know if I'm going to draw or fade the ball. I look at the divot that my irons make, and they seem to be pointing left of the target, and it feel likes I'm shutting my hands down and trying to steer the ball. The result is that some times I close up the club face, but more often I cut across the ball. I appreciate any advice/help you can give me with this problem."
From Ron Call - DOWN SWING    Answers
"What feeling should I have to begin my downswing? Does the left shoulder feel as if it rotates under the chin? I know the down swing begins with the left knee slamming shut. Should I feel as if my right or left shoulder starts the movement towards the target? What drills can I do to stop coming up out of my spine angle at the top of my back swing?"
From John - BACK SWING    Answers
"I have a preoccupation with my back swing and a converse lack of attention to keeping my eye on the ball, my head down, following through and turning. I feel I need to forget about my back swing and concentrate on all other aspects of my swing - even to the point of looking at the FRONT of the ball (or so I imagined) which seemed to help. Can anyone give me a pointer on how to spend less time worrying about my back swing so I can concentrate on the rest of my swing? Thanks if you can."
From Mark - HANDS BACK    Answers
"At the top of my back swing, my hands are located behind my body. Can you suggest any drills that will help me prevent this?"
From Tom O'Brien - LOW LEFT HOOK    Answers
"I've started hitting a straight low left or low left hook. My swing feels ok, but I have felt that maybe I was a little fast or maybe rotating my left hip to early and left. I feel that I almost always have the ball close to the center of the club face. I have tried to relax my grip pressure and slow my transition move without success. What can you suggest?"
From Lou Spiotti - PULLING IT LEFT    Answers
"I continue to have problems pulling the ball to the left. Sometimes the ball starts off straight and curves left. Sometimes (especially off the tee) it comes as a smother hook. With shorter irons (9 iron), the pull is not as dramatic but it is very problematic because it it well off target. It is very frustrating. Any suggestions?"
From Steven Mayo - DUCK HOOKS   Answers
"Over the winter in an effort to shorten my swing I started using the Momentus swing trainer. I don't know if it has to do with anything but this year I am hitting nothing but 50% duck hooks and 50% ground ball duck hooks. I have tried going to my local pro who told me to try to keep the club face open which I have tried many times but with no luck. I would give anything to get even my push back from a few years back. Last year I was shooting in the mid 80's and this year barely breaking a hundred! Please help!"
From Gary Gardner - HIGH, RIGHT, SHORT    Answers
"I'm a 14 handicap (right handed)  -- Recently, I've tended to hit my woods and irons 'high, right, and short'  -- especially my woods (which have stiff graphite shafts). I've tried strengthening my grip and trying to get an inside-out swing path (vs. the outside-in I'm experiencing). Any suggestions on drills?"
From Chad Portman - VARYING DISTANCES    Answers
"I hit my driver 150-225 yards. I hit my 5-iron 175-220 yards and my PW 2ft-158 yards. I only swing 75mph which may be my problem? As for my other clubs, I can't even hit them! Help..."
From Steve Williams - DROPPING RIGHT SHOULDER    Answers
"Help... lately I have been dropping my right shoulder (I'm right handed) on iron shots. How can I correct this?"
From Greg Lowe - PAST COLLEGE PLAYER NOW PUSH TO THE RIGHT    Answers
"I played golf in college seven years ago. Didn't play much since but could always go out and shoot fairly low. Well hung the clubs up for almost year can't stop a push. I went to an instructor but he starts talking about pronating, rotate and gets me to stay put in position a lot. I have always just gone out with a wedge and 2 iron and been able to fix the problem with tempo. In college my coach called me a feel player, back swing, slow tempo. I can't work out the push. I am starting to feel like a 15 handicapper looks. Thanks for any help..."
From Buddy Herrington - SLICING    Answers
"I have a problem with slicing the ball. What can I do?"
From Jim Jones - PUSH TO THE RIGHT    Answers
"I'm square to the target before I swing, but I've developed a slight push, with just a hint of fade. It seems more prevalent on my short irons. My drives are usually 5 yards off the fairway, and my birdie putts are 25-30 feet instead of 5-10 feet. I play to a 5 and would like to take my game the next level. Is my push a result of squaring my target line? My grip is relatively strong. My swing is a little upright. Are there any minor adjustments I should make in my pre-shot routine? I'd like to solve the problem without re-vamping my entire swing."
From Dwaine - FAT SHOTS    Answers
"I have a fairly long and low back swing which I am quite happy with. My problem is when I start to come down with my swing I lose control and end up hitting fat shots. I feel like I am sweeping the club along the ground and forcing the club through to the finish. HELP!!!"
From Neil Warren - HOOKS AND TOE SHOTS    Answers
"Hi, I'm a 7 eager to lose those last strokes off my handicap. I've taught myself to play golf with decent results. It seems that isn't quite enough anymore. My main problem is, my misses are consistently hooks or toe balls. I'll find a cure for that by reading tips on-line or through instruction booklets. But, as soon as I fix that problem, another one arrives...i.e scull every now and then, a heel shot or push. I get frustrated and resort to my old swing, producing yet again a hook or toe ball. My swing feels a little
off balance, not real tight, a lot a moving parts, which contributes to my inconsistency. Any advice on building a consistent golf swing and balance? My handicap thanks you!"
Marj Malizio - SHOULD I TAKE A DIVOT?    Answers
"I golf to a 15 handicap. I am a former tennis player, who has been playing golf for about 15 years now. I feel like to get to the next level with distance on my fairway shots  - I need to learn to take a divot. #1 Am I correct with this logic or is it not really necessary to take a divot? I have always scooped the ball off the fairway.  #2 Are there any drills, concepts to work on that will help me with to achieve this. I am one that loves the time spent practicing on the range!! Appreciate your help."
Jeremy Logan - REPEATABLE SWING    Answers
"Hi. I need help with my mental game and physical game. I have seen a few times this year, out of all our golf matches, my real swing, or how I should be swinging. Now I have tried to duplicate it, but it just doesn't seem to be working. Every time I play, something new is wrong with my swing. I find myself making silly beginner mistakes. I need to help with my drives and my iron play. I seem to draw or hook my drives, and every now and then I will fade or slice them, but not as much as the draw or hook. I have a problem getting off the tee also. My irons are not as bad, but not good either. I seem to fade my long irons, but my shorter 7-pw irons are ok. What can I do to improve my game and finally show everyone - and prove to myself (including my coaches) - that I am a good golfer?"
Jay - SLICING TEE SHOT   Answers
"I don't slice my irons, but I slice my tee shot. I've tried to shorten my back swing. It helps, but no distance. Any suggestions?"
Dileep - HIGHER TRAJECTORY   Answers
"I hit a nice long ball, but with a consistently low trajectory, especially with my mid and long irons and woods. When I face trees in my line, I always have a hard time. How do I get these shots to fly more naturally or higher?"
James Lee - NOT TAKING A DIVOT   Answers
"What's the best way to practice hitting the ball correctly without taking too big of a divot? The first 4 years I've been playing, I've never taken a divot. Everybody says I scoop the ball."
Walter - SWING TOO FAST   Answers
"I am 70 years old, and I still can't slow down my swing. I try a slow take away but I rush the down swing. I try to stop at the top and that seems to help. Also, I try to visualize the path of the club head during the swing. Please help."
Joe - TOEING & TOPPING SHOTS   Answers
"Out of nowhere, I am starting to hit the ball off the toe of the club with my irons, producing pulls and shots off to the right. I am also topping the ball. I am a low handicapper and this has me baffled. This past winter I've been using a weighted Momentus swing trainer. I've heard that this could have started this disaster. Any help would be appreciated."
Matt - TOPPING THE LOW IRONS   Answers
"I always have trouble hitting my irons 3, 4 and 5 off the fairway. I always top the ball. How do I stop?"
John - REVERSE PIVOT   Answers
"What causes the reverse pivot?"
Jose - BALANCE PROBLEM   Answers
"I have very poor balance. I have tried to hit balls with my feet together and it works, but when I go out to play, I do the same old things and my balance is still poor. Please help - thanks!"
Rubin - HOOKING MY DRIVER   Answers
"I am a left handed golfer having a problem with hitting my driver and fairway woods. I hook the ball severely and it rarely gets airborne. I hit my irons straight most of the time but I've began to also hook my irons but not nearly as severe. What can I do?"
Patricia - GOING TO THE RIGHT   Answers
"I have a handicap of 23 and have been playing golf awhile. It seems I have developed this 'going to the right.' Not really a slice, maybe a push, but it sure puts me in places I do not want to be...help!"
Larraine - GETTING YOUR OLD SWING BACK   Answers
"
Two years ago, my handicap went from 16.4 to 11.3 in one season and lasted through the following year. This year, I totally forgot my swing! My handicap has gone back to 16.5, and I still haven't figured out why. How can you forget your swing, and what can you do (if anything) to get it back?!"
